Robert B. Knaak, ASLA, RLA, CLARB
Registered landscape architect, Robert B. Knaak, ASLA has achieved expertise in the design of master plan community, commercial, and residential projects throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, and Texas over the last 15 years. After graduating from Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, Robert has had the opportunity to work for some of the country’s most prestigious land developers while mastering the art of country club and resort design. Developing master plans, establishing design criteria, and creating beautiful landscape themes became an integral part of Robert’s experience.

Robert came to understand his passion for creative residential and master planned community design and in 2005 launched his own firm. As principal of Knaak Design Group, Robert’s responsibilities include contract preparation and negotiation along with the management of land development & landscape architectural projects. He is currently responsible for overseeing conceptual design, design development, and construction document stages on all sustainable development projects.

Mr. Knaak is a licensed registered landscape architect in Arizona (RLA #52862), Florida (RLA #666907), and Texas (RLA #2591). He is also a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and holds certification with the Council of Landscape Architectural Registration Boards (CLARB #6093). .


Michael L. Mayer, RLA
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mike has over 20 years of experience in the field of Landscape Architecture working for innovative firms in resort design & development, commercial, and residential fields. His thorough knowledge of construction practices ensures comprehensive drawing preparation and site supervision. Mr. Mayer has a proven ability in comprehensive resort design concepts, technical drawings, and graphic presentations on which clients rely to bring projects to fruition. Mike provides senior management oversight for all land development projects and master planned communities.

Mr. Mayer has extensive resort design experience in both private land development and infrastructure projects. His significant master planned community and resort design experience services include feasibility, site evaluations, project planning, and sustainable development.

Mr. Mayer is a licensed registered Landscape Architect in California (RLA # 3730), Nevada (RLA#583), and Texas (RLA#2629).


Joseph D. Vickers, RLA
With over 13 years of experience since graduating from Utah State University, Joseph has worked on some of the premiere golf course and resort style master planned communities throughout California and Nevada. He brings a diverse knowledge of land development project management and construction administration as well as creativity and a keen eye for well thought out resort design.

Joe’s passion for green practices and sustainable development has helped develop a new green culture at KDG. We hope to implement more sustainable development practices throughout all our master planned communities and resort designs moving forward thanks to Joe’s persistent involvement.
Mr. Vickers is a licensed registered Landscape Architect in California (RLA #4977) and Nevada (RLA #638).
